Summer Friendly Foods

With the mercury levels steadily rising, eating foods that are high in water content is highly beneficial to the body. Most of the fruits and vegetables are low in calories, high in antioxidant vitamins and minerals and are rich in water content too.

Include plenty of salad vegetables such as broccoli, beetroot, cabbage, capsicum, carrots, celery, cucumber, lettuce, onions, radish, and tomatoes in the diet. Ash gourd, bottle gourd, ridge gourd, green leafy vegetables etc. also have high water content and can be used regularly in cooking.

Equally important are fruits like musk melon and water melon, beverages such as fresh fruit juices, tender coconut water, buttermilk, lime juice, and the most important ingredient “Water” which helps one to cope up with the heat of summer
